He LIVES!!!

As we awoke this morning to another Resurrection Sunday, or Easter, our house was filled with the same song that every Easter morning of my life has been filled with...

I serve a RISEN SAVIOR,
He's in the world today,
I know that He is with me,
Whatever men may say.
I feel His hand of mercy,
I hear His voice of cheer,
and just the time I need Him
He's always near.

He LIVES, He LIVES,
Christ Jesus lives today,
He walks with me and talks with me
Along life's narrow way.
He LIVES, He LIVES,
Salvation to impart,
You ask me how I know He lives?
He LIVES within my heart!

...I wouldn't know what else to sing on Easter morning! :) I am so thankful that although we also enjoyed the very fun and commercial side of Easter...

(Thank you Robin for this DELICIOUS Bunny Cake!!!)

...with fabulous baskets (always hidden in obvious places!), and Peter Cottontail, and painted eggs... my parents focused our Easters on the true meaning, the JOY that is ours because of the fact that HE LIVES! ...and my Dad always SANG about it on Easter morning. Even as I grew into my teenage years, where Dad's morning songs were not the coolest, I still secretly appreciated his ability to always have a song in his heart and to worship from his heart even while doing routine mornings around our house. I have the image of my Dad singing fixed in my mind's eye. It was a part of his day to sing praises, and I will do my best to follow in his footsteps. I hope my children have a memory of their crazy Mom and Dad SINGING to Jesus and praising His precious name, because He became sin, for me. He endured torture and shame, for me. He died on a cross for me. But all of this would have been for naught, except for this part:

"Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is RISEN!"
~Luke 24:5-6

...THE event that changed all of humanity after it. He AROSE from the dead, FOR ME!!!!

Thank you, precious Savior, for loving me, in spite of my sin, and for taking my place, on the cross. Thank you for the hope that you give us because of your resurrection. I pray that you would help me to live all of my moments, in light of that moment in time.

...and in closing, a few pics of how we spent our first Easter with our baby girl...
